Custom CRM for SEO, content and link building work
Custom CRM is the core of CRM development at Best Boost Partners: a web system built on Laravel around the entities of your work, such as projects, domains, pages, tasks, texts, links, donors, contractors and payments. Each record has a status, a deadline, a responsible person and a history of changes, and search and filters work across all records. The system is deployed on your server and replaces the spreadsheets the team works in today.
What exactly do we build in a custom CRM?
Entities and relations
We define the entities of your work and how they are connected: a project has domains, a domain has pages, a page has texts and links, a link has a donor and a contractor. The same record can be reached from any side.
Statuses and deadlines
Each entity gets its own chain of statuses: a text, for example, goes from brief to draft, review, approval and publication. A record has a responsible person and a deadline, and overdue records are gathered on a separate screen.
History of changes
The CRM records who changed a field, when, and what the previous value was. A deleted record goes to an archive, and the administrator can restore the record.
Search and filters
Any list is filtered by project, status, responsible person, date and other fields, and a filter can be saved as a personal view. Search works across domains, URLs, anchors, task titles and contractor names.
Screens for daily work
We design lists, cards and boards for each role, starting from the prototype approved in the specification. Bulk actions change the status, the deadline or the responsible person for many records at once.
Deployment on your server
The CRM is built on Laravel with a relational database and is installed on your server under your domain. We set up backups and a test copy on which updates are checked first.
What do you get with a custom CRM?
- A working web system on your server with the entities, statuses and screens described in the specification.
- The data from your spreadsheets, moved into the CRM and checked against the original files.
- The source code in your repository and the database schema with a description of tables and fields.
- An administrator’s guide to adding users, projects, statuses and reference lists.
- Short instructions by role for employees who join the team later.
When is a custom CRM needed?
- The team runs several projects and sites, and the spreadsheets with tasks, texts and links no longer agree with each other.
- You need to see who changed a record and when, and a spreadsheet does not give a reliable history.
- Your process has its own statuses and steps, and ready-made systems make the team fit the process to their fields.
- The data has to stay on your own server because of agreements with clients or the nature of the projects.
Frequently asked questions
What is a custom CRM built on, and where does it run?
A custom CRM is built on the Laravel framework with a relational database and opens in a browser. The system is installed on your server under your domain, so the data and the code stay with you. The server requirements are listed in the documentation.
Can we start with one part of the system and add the rest later?
Yes, a custom CRM is built in stages, and the first stage can cover only projects, sites and tasks. Texts, links, payments and integrations are added in later stages on the same database. The order of stages is fixed in the specification, so the early parts are designed with the later ones in mind.
What is needed from our team while the CRM is being built?
We need one person who knows the process and can decide on statuses, fields and rights. We also need access to the current spreadsheets and some time from several employees to try each stage and send remarks. The remarks after each stage keep the CRM close to the real work.
