Online store development with a catalogue built for search
Online stores are a direction of website development at Best Boost Partners for retailers and wholesalers who sell through search. We design the catalogue structure from keyword research, set up filters so that they do not breed duplicate pages, and build templates for categories and product cards. Products and prices are imported from your files or accounting system, and payment and delivery services are connected. You receive a working store on your own hosting, with source code, access details and instructions for content managers.
What do we build in an online store?
Catalogue structure
Categories and subcategories follow the way buyers search: by product type, brand and purpose, and in auto parts by make and model. Every category has its own URL, heading and place in the menu.
Filters without duplicate pages
Filter combinations that have search demand become landing pages with their own URL, heading and text. All other combinations are closed to indexing, so the store does not fill the index with near-identical pages.
Product card templates
The card holds the name, price, availability, characteristics, photographs, delivery terms and related products. Titles and descriptions are formed from the product fields by a formula and can be rewritten by hand.
Import of products and prices
Products, prices and stock are loaded on a schedule from a supplier file, a spreadsheet or your accounting system. The import log shows what was added, changed or rejected.
Payment and delivery integrations
We connect the payment systems and delivery services you work with and test the whole order path, from the cart to the notification. If required, order statuses are passed to your CRM or accounting system.
Structured data and speed
Markup for the product, price, availability, reviews and breadcrumbs is built into the templates. Images are compressed and loaded as the page scrolls, and category pages are cached.
What do you get with an online store?
- A store on your hosting and domain with a filled catalogue, a cart, a checkout and a customer account.
- A catalogue structure table: categories, filter landing pages, URLs and assigned queries.
- A configured import of products, prices and stock with a description of the file format.
- Connected payment and delivery services and a record of the test orders.
- Source code, access details and instructions for content managers.
When is it time to build or rebuild an online store?
- You are opening online sales, and the product list already exists in a file or an accounting system.
- Google Search Console shows many duplicate and excluded pages created by filters, sorting and pagination.
- Products and prices are updated by hand, and the site regularly shows items that are out of stock.
- The store is moving to another platform, and the addresses of categories and products will change.
Frequently asked questions
Which platform do you use for an online store?
A typical store with a catalogue, a cart and standard integrations is built on OpenCart. A store with unusual pricing rules, complex product configuration or a heavy catalogue is written on Laravel. We name the platform and the reasons for the choice after the brief.
How do you stop filters from creating duplicate pages?
Before development starts we divide the filter combinations into two groups. Combinations with search demand receive a static URL, their own heading and text, and a place in the sitemap. Everything else, together with sorting and pagination parameters, is closed with canonical tags and indexing rules.
Can you transfer products from our old store?
Yes. Products, categories, photographs, characteristics and reviews are exported from the old store and imported into the new one, and the old product addresses receive redirects to the new ones. Before launch we compare the old and the new catalogue against a list of URLs and check that nothing is lost.
