PBN networks

Network architecture for a PBN

Network architecture is the plan of a PBN network: how many sites it has, how they are arranged in tiers, which site links to which page of your project and at what pace the links appear. Best Boost Partners prepares this plan as part of the PBN networks service, before the first domain is bought. You receive a diagram of the network, a link table and a placement schedule that your team or ours can follow.

What exactly do we plan in the network architecture?

  1. Size of the network

We estimate the number of sites from the competition in your search results and from the current link profile of the promoted site. The estimate and its reasoning are written into the plan.

  2. Tiers

We decide which sites link to your project directly and which sites support them from a second tier. First-tier sites get the strongest domains and the most careful content.

  3. Link map

For every network site we set the target page, the anchor type and the place of the link in the content. A network site links to your project from a limited number of pages, next to links to other sources.

  4. No interlinking

Sites of one network do not link to each other. A chain of links between network sites lets a search engine find the whole network from a single site.

  5. Pace of placement

Links appear gradually and unevenly, as they do on a living site. The schedule takes into account the age of each network site and the pace at which the promoted site gained links earlier.

  6. Growth of the network

The plan describes how new sites are added and in what order. New sites follow the same rules of separation, so growth does not create common traces.

What do you get from the network architecture work?

  • A diagram of the network with the tiers and the direction of every link.
  • A link table: network site, target page, anchor type and planned date.
  • A placement schedule that sets the pace of new links for the coming months.
  • Written rules of the network: what its sites may link to and what is forbidden.
  • A growth plan: when and how new sites are added to the network.

When is network architecture needed?

  • You are starting a PBN network and want the scheme agreed before money is spent on domains.
  • Your existing network grew without a plan, and its sites link to each other or to the same pages.
  • The promoted site is getting new sections or languages, and the link map has to be redrawn.
  • You are going to enlarge the network and need rules for the new sites to follow.

Frequently asked questions

Why must sites of one PBN network not link to each other?

Links between network sites join them into one visible group. If a search engine recognises one site, it follows those links and finds the rest. For this reason each network site links only to your project and to outside sources on its own topic.

How many tiers does a PBN network need?

Many networks manage with one tier that links to the promoted site directly. A second tier is added when first-tier sites need support from links of their own, and a second tier raises the cost of upkeep. We choose the number of tiers at the planning stage and explain the choice in the plan.

How quickly can links from the network be placed?

Links are placed gradually, over the period stated in the schedule. A sudden wave of links from young sites is among the signals by which a network is recognised. We set the pace from the age of the network sites and the link history of the promoted site.
