Drop domain search and analysis

Drop search on free platforms

Drop search on free platforms is the part of the service “Drop domain search and analysis” in which Best Boost Partners looks for deleted domains that anyone can register again for the ordinary registration fee. We monitor free public lists of deleted and soon-to-be-deleted domains daily, filter them by topic, language, zone, age and link data, and check the shortlisted domains. The part is for teams that need several domains without auction prices. You receive a list of checked domains with a verdict and the registered domains in your account.

What exactly do we do when searching free platforms for drops?

  1. Free public sources

Besides auctions there are domains that were deleted and returned to open registration. Free public sources publish lists of deleted domains and of domains that are about to be deleted. We keep a set of such sources for the zones named in the brief.

  2. Daily monitoring

We go through the new lists every day. A good free domain is usually registered by someone within hours of its release, so the lists are processed on the day they appear.

  3. Filtering the lists

A daily list is filtered by topic, language, zone, age and link data. Most of the list is rejected at this step, and only a short set of domains goes on to the checks.

  4. Checks of shortlisted domains

For each shortlisted domain we view the history in the Wayback Machine and the backlinks in link indexes such as Ahrefs and Majestic. We look for spam periods and for signs of a search engine penalty, such as the absence of the domain from the index.

  5. Quick registration

A domain that passes the checks is registered at once, at the ordinary registration fee. The registrar, the account and the order of approval are agreed with you before the monitoring starts, so that no time is lost.

  6. List with verdicts

Every checked domain is entered in a table with a verdict and the reason for it, whether the domain was registered or rejected. The table shows what was looked at and why most candidates did not pass.

What do you get from the drop search on free platforms?

  • A list of the free sources and zones that are monitored for your task.
  • A table of checked domains with a verdict for each and the reason behind the verdict.
  • For each approved domain: links to the archive snapshots and the link data used in the check.
  • The registered domains in your own registrar account, at the ordinary registration fee.
  • A regular report on the monitoring: which lists were processed, which domains were checked and which were registered.

When do you need a drop search on free platforms?

  • You need several domains for a PBN and want to pay the registration fee instead of an auction price.
  • You work in a zone or a topic where auctions offer few lots, and deleted domains are the main source.
  • You have tried sorting the free lists yourself and found that it takes more time than you have.
  • You want the free lists watched every day by the same criteria, so that a suitable domain is noticed on the day of its release.

Frequently asked questions

Are free drop domains worse than auction domains?

On average, yes: strong domains are rarer in free lists than at auctions, because the domains with the best link profiles are usually bought before they reach open registration. A free domain costs only the registration fee, and a suitable one does appear in the lists from time to time. Most of the list is rejected, so the main work lies in the filtering and the checks.

Why does a free domain have to be registered so quickly?

Because a deleted domain can be registered by anyone, and a good one is usually taken within hours. Other buyers watch the same public lists. For this reason we check the shortlisted domains on the day the list appears and register a suitable domain at once.

What do I pay for if the domain itself is free to register?

You pay for the monitoring, the filtering and the checks, and separately the ordinary registration fee for each domain. The domain itself is inexpensive, and the labour goes into finding the few domains worth registering among the many that are not. The price of the work is named after the brief.
